Still Two

Don't you love two-year-olds? That is, when they're not driving you CRAZY! Of course, I'm always patient with Tanner. Oh, I do try, anyway!

I love his talking now. He is a little chatterbox and is so good at communicating with us. He has so much to say, but it is very difficult to understand most of it. I've got a pretty good handle on Tanner-ese, but I usually have to do the translating for other people. It's so cute when we can't understand what he's saying; he is confident that he knows what he's talking about and patiently repeats himself (over and over) until we understand him. We will guess what he's saying and he responds with a clipped, "no" or, "yeah" or,"YES!"

Last week, it took me three days to figure out that he had a new phrase for "lunch time." It didn't sound ANYTHING like "lunch time!" So I worked with him to make at least one or two of the right sounds so that we can tell what it is he's trying to say. He's adamant, though - he won't change his dubious pronunciation. I took a video:

I LOVED this video! It's so fun to see what Michelle will be like in 4 months! Loved all his pronunciations :)

I know what you mean about the talk. Paige and I can carry on a perfectly logical conversation that completely alludes most people. I'm so glad that you posted on the glory of 2-year-olds today, because I really needed it. Even though Paige isn't quite two yet, she is definitely taking on the persona. Just the past couple of weeks, she has got an opinion, a lovely, blood-curdling scream, and she climbs everywhere. She is not my sweet, little baby anymore, she's rapidly turning into a toddler. After wrestling (literally) for two hours at Stake Conference, I was having a hard time remembering why I should love this age. Thanks for the reminder (and the venting outlet). Tanner is simply adorable!

What a little doll of a boy! He's so cute and sweet! You're right, his "lunch time" pronunciation doesn't resemble those words at all. Yet he says, "courthouse" and "Jordan and Jackson" very well I thought! What a little cutie and a priceless video you made!

So cute. We really miss you guys. We were in Willard on Saturday and almost stopped by. Maybe next time. Keep up the good words Tanner. Lunchtime will get there sooner or later. :)

I love it! Mothers really are talented in so many areas. I love when I have to ask the sisters what the heck is being said.
